About JKV Contractors
All-Trades Remodeling, Repair & Design Services — Salt Lake County & Surrounding Areas
The Kind of Company We'd Want to Hire
JKV Contractors is a locally owned, husband-and-wife team proudly serving Salt Lake County, Tooele, Utah, and Weber Counties with all-trades remodeling & repair services. We built this company to be the kind of service business we'd actually want to hire ourselves.
Solid work, done right, by people who know what they're doing across many trades and who take pride in every job we take on!
Let's be honest. Nobody wakes up excited to call a contractor. You call because something broke… cracked… leaked… or is driving you absolutely crazy.
And then the second worry sets in… Not the repair. The reliability! Because we've all heard the stories — deposit is paid, jobs half-started, contractor disappears... for weeks, even months... while your house sits in pieces.
That's where JKV Contractors comes in. Because yeah, that's not happening. When we start your project, we finish it... Period!
No vanishing acts. No juggling ten jobs at once. No nonsense. And no worries! We take pride in our work ethic and reliability as your all-trades remodeling & repair team in Salt Lake County.
Meet Javier
Co-Owner & Principal — Master Craftician
Javier is the kind of person who can look at something broken and immediately begin working out how it functions, why it failed, and how to rebuild it properly. Problem-solving is not merely part of his job—it is how his mind works.
His all-trades experience includes framing, concrete, roofing, painting, installations, mechanical systems, home repairs, and complete remodels. Before founding JKV Contractors, Javier led crews on large construction projects, including commercial concrete work connected to major infrastructure builds, where precision, accountability, and sound judgment were essential.
He is also trained in welding and automotive mechanics. That broad technical background allows him to understand how different materials and systems work together and to find practical solutions when a project presents an unexpected challenge.
But Javier is more than technically skilled. He has a natural eye for proportion, balance, and design, and he notices details many people overlook. He works hard, refuses to cut corners, respects each client's home, and takes pride in leaving every space cleaner than he found it.
Around here we joke that Javier is just like our 10-month-old German Shepherd, Risa... He's a "working dog" and NEEDS a project! :)
Meet Karina
Co-Owner & Principal — Project, Operations & Design
Karina brings expertise across multiple things herself... Roles in human resources, executive leadership, operations, marketing, construction, insurance, risk management, color and design complete JKV with a professionalism you'll feel from the very beginning.
Her 18 years in senior HR roles taught her to anticipate problems, establish clear expectations, manage contracts and compliance, communicate professionally, and keep people and projects moving forward.
Eight years as a licensed insurance professional with State Farm taught her to evaluate building systems, construction materials, property hazards, coverage, and claims. She can easily identify maintenance, damage, that help to avoid larger problems or complicate a future claim.
In her early years, Karina was a licensed cosmetologist and trained color specialist. She recognizes subtle differences in shade, depth, hue, and undertone and knows how to uncover what clients want—even when they cannot fully describe it.
At JKV, Karina helps clients define their vision and translate it into a realistic scope, logical project sequence, organized schedule, and clearly communicated plan. She considers how every choice affects the design, budget, construction process, potential risks, and finished result.
Fair warning: Karina will absolutely notice the undertone of your grout.
Why We Work So Well Together
We bring different strengths to every project—but our expertise overlaps in all the right places.
We are not a faceless company or revolving crew. We are a husband-and-wife team personally involved from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.
Javier brings craftsmanship, hands-on construction expertise, problem-solving, and an eye for design. Karina brings building evaluation, estimating, color and design expertise, project planning, communication, and operational leadership.
Both of us understand construction, contribute ideas, and notice the smallest details. Javier ensures designs can be built safely and beautifully. Karina considers how each choice affects the sequence, budget, risk, and finished result. We challenge each other, refine ideas together, and keep every project grounded in what is both beautiful and practical.
You get:
- Quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design
- Honest guidance supported by real building knowledge
- Thorough planning that prevents expensive surprises
- Clear communication from two owners personally invested in your project
Our individual strengths matter—but the way we strengthen each other is what creates the JKV difference.
