Building the Solution
The plan focused on impact over scope. New LVP flooring to replace the linoleum. Fresh drywall repair and paint throughout, including the ceiling. New cabinet hardware and a coat of paint on the cabinet boxes to modernize them without replacing them. Updated lighting: recessed cans over the work areas and a pendant over the sink. New trim around the window and a clean baseboard run. Everything coordinated. Nothing random.

What We Found
We pulled the old flooring first and found the subfloor in good shape — a relief. Drywall repairs went quickly; there were a few old anchor holes and one section near the window that needed a proper patch. No major surprises, which on a kitchen project is always a good sign.
Chapter 6
Bringing It Together
Paint came next: walls, ceiling, and cabinet boxes. The cabinet painting took the most time — proper prep, primer, and two finish coats make the difference between a paint job that lasts and one that chips in six months. We did it right. Flooring went in last, after everything else was dry and clean.

Chapter 7
The Finished Space
New hardware went on every cabinet door and drawer — brushed nickel, simple, and clean. The pendant light over the sink was the homeowner's pick and it was exactly right for the space. We caulked every transition, touched up every edge, and made sure the flooring ran cleanly under the toe kicks.

The Reveal
The window trim was the last thing we installed, and it pulled the whole room together in a way that's hard to explain until you see it. The kitchen looked like it had always been this way — which is exactly what a good refresh should feel like.
